This is the ribbon rock on knife. I'm sure there are many many people who have taken pictures of it. It ocurrs to me that it looks different everytime I see it depending on conditions it's a lot more brilliant when it's
wet and the sun comes out. Lets see everybodies pictures.

For some great information/history about the Ribbon Rock I highly recommend Dorothy Molter - The root beer lady of Knife lake

Also, I believe there is another ribbon type rock near the Soudan underground mine.

I recall reading the work of some researchers who noted that the Molter rock is not similar to exposed rocks of the Knife Lake Group and have evidence that it was brought in from a lake on Quetico's Man Chain.

The ribbon rock along the trails behind the Soudan Mine is impressively large. Someone on this site once posted a picture.

If you read the book about the root beer lady, it was brought to her lake by some friends in a aluminum boat, bent the side of the boat too. I saw it two years ago. I just looked at the shore for a large rock that looked differant than the other surrounding rocks.

Read her book, but I sure missed this detail. Thanks.

Wish I would have splashed some water on it to make it shine.
