My prism has a name and a nickname (one is written on the port side, the other starbord). My prism's name is "Lady J". Its nickname is "Rod" (lest I forget).

Yes, a lady on one side, but the other side does not refer to a boy or anything masculine.

I named the ones I was fond of. My Bell Starfire is named "Black Beauty." My just sold Dagger Reflection was named "Blue Belle." I've had a canoe named "Sandy" and "'Ol Blue." "Shannon" and "Shannon II" were named after my favorite county in MO; Shannon county, where the upper Current and the Jack's Fork flows through. My old aluminum Lowe canoe I bought back in the early '80's was alternately called "The Beast," or "The Pig" because she was so darn heavy.

I'm the old dude that paddles a SeaEagle 12' inflatable kayak - years ago one of my tripping partners named her "Porky", and the name has stuck. He thought she was ugly, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I call mine, 'The Spirit.' Apparently it got named at the factory, but oddly enough its relevant in my life with my friends from high school.

The folks I bought it from used to call it 'The Darkness.'

My Bell Rockstar's name is "JON BOAT"
After Nojobro's husband who went and got the damn thing for me.

Least I could do was name it after him!!!!

I have five of em and only named two of em.

The other one I named is the Wildfire Royalex, and I named it "Molly"
After my lab Molly the "Worlds Best Dog" who is now in doggy heaven.

I haven't named any of the canoes, but I sometimes call whichever one I'm in The Minnow, as in - The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed, if not for the courage of the fearless crew, The Minnow would be lost, The Minnow would be lost . . .

I don't name my canoes or kayaks but the first MO Ozarks float trip I went on shortly after my 50th birthday I found that my wife had christened my Old Town Guide "Old Fart". She bought peel-n-stick mailbox letters and placed this monicer on both sides of my canoe near the bow.

My wife loves canoeing and camping but only when it's hot enough to get out and swim. She's never been to the BWCA and unfortunately I don't think she ever will. She has a severe reaction to mosquitoe bites. Hot weather and mosquitoes go hand-in-hand in the BWCA.

All I can offer right now are the photos I received from Sawtooth Outfitters. I should be picking the boat up in less then 2 weeks and will post some then.

What a shame she can't enjoy the magic of that area. A perplexing thing that skitters eat up some folks and dont' mess much with others. There's such an arsenal of stuff on the market now to keep them at bay.

She gets plenty of seat time in her kayak on our MO Ozark float trips. She loves the pictures and video I bring back from the BWCA. I'm trying to talk her into an early Spring or Fall trip to avoid the bugs.
