Wonder-ful report! ;)

Short getaways are often the most rewarding. Thanks for taking the time to share your story & photos.

What a great trip. I am so sorry I missed the usual fall trip I take just like yours. Definitely have to do one next year. At 76 I can’t afford to miss too many more fall trips.

My sense is that we didn't have as many quintessential fall days as usual. Fall 2024 seems far off, but still good to look forward/plan. I love the winter too, so looking forward to a few solid snowshoe treks into and around the BW.

I wandered over to Wonder at the close of my trip last year with high hopes of snagging a site, doing some leisurely fishing, maybe even venturing over to Sunhigh. After a lovely paddle down the lake I found the campsite occupied and chose to retreat to Alton. Part of me wishes I would have pushed on to Sunhigh, but I wanted to be closer to the exit point on my last night. So I got to do that portage twice! Wonder is intriguing being so close to a busy entry point but still a dead end lake with one site (I couldn’t find the other at all and reviews point to it being highly unlikely to be found or occupied).

Someday I’ll get back to try again!
