Entry Point 38 - Sawbill Lake
Sawbill Lake entry point allows overnight paddle only. This entry point is supported by Tofte Ranger Station near the city of Tofte, MN. The distance from ranger station to entry point is 25 miles. Access is a boat landing at Sawbill Lake. This area was affected by blowdown in 1999.

Trip Introduction:
This was our first trip to the BWCA! We had a blast, learned a lot about
teamwork, communication, and each other.

We entered Sawbill Lake on 8/31. The weather was decent and we had fun finding our first portage.
[paragraph break] We set up camp on the island site in Burnt Lake for the trip. Over the next couple of days we relaxed, fished, and canoed over to Flame Lake. Here are some pictures:
[paragraph break] We didn't have many pictures from the exit trip because of the weather conditions. We fought and rode white capped water on Burnt, Smoke, and Flame Lake. It was super exciting and the following picture tells all.
What a great trip! I'm already planning our next.
