Camp Notes: Not the best site but clearly the better of the two on this lake. Still totally worth the trip to this lake if you like a challenge. We came in from Seagull and out through the many portages towards Gillis lake. Both were hard days but very rewarding! Caught more trout than we could eat! And very secluded lake to visit. would definitely come back

Camp Notes: Just wanted to make a note that this lake is the J.A. Paulsen Lake, abbreviated JAP Lake. It is not "Japanese Lake."

Camp Notes: Steep unaccommodating landing, leads up to an exposed fire grate area. There are a few tent pads, although no really good ones. Excellent views of the lake & lots of open space on the rock ledge. This site should improve as the forest grows up.

Camp Notes: Bare rocky point. A few tent pads scattered around the site. The walk back to the latrine is pretty long. Incorrectly called "Japanese lake" by previous reviewers. The old name of "J.A.P" are actually initials of J.A. Paulson, of the historic Paulson mine.

Camp Notes: not much for tree coverage due to the fires, but the fishing make up for desolate area.
