Camp Notes: We loved this site! Great views, good, flat area for our 2 tents. The giant white pine at the entrance was beautiful and perfect for locating the site.

Camp Notes: This campsite was great for our short summer trip. We came in from Clearwater. Location of campsite was a bit more to the West than indicated on the maps. Uploaded an image for reference. The GIANT white pine is the giveaway, you can spot it from a mile away. The site is very open, as others have commented. With pleasant early summer weather, this was very nice for us, and we enjoyed fishing and swimming from the shore. If it had been cold or windy, we may have kept searching. Do note that this lake has a Canadian public access boat landing on the north shore. We saw several boats over the weekend, but only one other BWCA paddling group go through. We went into the lake thinking we'd probably not see anyone, and then the Canadians were out there having a good time. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but most BWCA visitors aren't going this far north to have a recreational lake experience. Smallmouth fishing was very active, albeit nothing of great size. Trout fishing was decent, but you need to get down there to them in the summer. We had brought 3 young guys with us as a short first trip experience, and it served that purpose very well.

Camp Notes: After a 15 mile day to include the 628 rod portage from Rose into Rove this site had to do. Pushing the 1 1/2 mile onto the next was not on our radar. Site has 3 good pads and is decent size. Latrine area is unique as it is in a rocky area all covered with moss. Pretty scenery to look at while taking care of business!! Down side of site is we had a west wind at night and North West wind in AM. This site is totally exposed to those no matter where you put the tent. Was 35 degrees at night so it made for a chilly sleep. Did not get a chance to fish from shore, but the fishing in the lake was not good because of all the wind anyway. Would stay here again if necessary but the next site to the east is a much better choice.

Camp Notes: A sprawling site with a majestic white pine serving as the centerpiece. Better than average canoe landing. Open & offers a great view across the lake into Canada. Ample room for several tents. There is a large downed log running along the shoreline which provides an excellent roost from which to fish from.
