anyone here use dan's tarps for your hammock set-up. i just measured my yellow cooke tarp and it is the same length as my hennessy , which works for my 2 dutch 11 ft. hammocks.
i thought i could use it, just was not sure if it would be big enough.
i do like the extra tie outs on the cooke tarp.

I have indeed used a CCS tarp over my ENO. I wasn't ready to make a huge investment when I first started hanging and so I used what I already owned. The CCS is a quality tarp and it worked just fine over my ENO. I have since switched to the Mamajamba over the Warbonnets XLC for the weight savings. I suggest using what you have until you know for sure what you are looking for and then you can make an informed purchase later if necessary. Here is a pic of my CCS 8X10 over my ENO.

My set up is an ENO Doublenest with a CCS 10x12 1.1 tarp. I rig it like wintertrekker on youtube, with a ridge-line stuff sack, and run the ridge-line down the 12 ft seam. That gives me 5 ft of coverage on each side. Pitching in porch mode, there is plenty of room to keep me dry without being closed in, and I can pitch it within a foot of the ground and still have plenty of room underneath if it gets nasty.
I will say that you need to be diligent when sealing the seams, especially around the pole support in the center. A small leak while sitting under a tarp means you might need to move your chair, in a hammock, you will be getting wet. Yes, I speak from experience.

I use a CCS 10x10 over my Warbonnet Blackbird. It does fine but I'd prefer a 10x12 for a little extra coverage at the head and feet for when it's windy and rainy.

Alan, with my 10 x 12, I was able to cross the corners on one end when the wind switched directions, essentially closing the door on that end of the hammock. That extra 2 feet in length was really nice on our rainy September trip.

I've wondered if that would be possible. Good to know it is.

I have used a CSS 10x12 tarp for my October trips. I like the coverage. the sides go all the way to the ground and the ends close for great wind blockage. I was able to enclose my hammock and my sons bivy in one enclosure. Worked great.

I have used my CCS 12 x 12 on my first two hammock experiences last year. On the first trip, I hung the hammock at an angle under the tarp with the head end of the hammock on the same tree as the ridge line for the tarp, the foot end of the hammock on a tree off to the side a bit. This worked great giving me lots of room under the tarp to one side of the hammock.

I use my CCS 10x12 tarp with my hammock. I hang the 12 side on top and that gives me 5 feet on each side for plenty of coverage.

I have used a 10x12 CCS tarp for cold, snowy, windy camping. I was new to hammocking and didn't want to invest in a hammock only tarp. I really, really liked the coverage. I used the 12 foot on the ridge line. it went all of the way to the ground on the sides and was able to close off both ends. Although bulkier and heavier than my newer tarp it worked well and blocked out the weather well. I have used it since for winter camping.

The wife and I used our 12.5x14 Rainbow CCS tarp to cover both of us.
