I got the opportunity to take my dad on his first BWCA trip last week. Of course I had him try out hammock camping instead of a tent. He was up for it and I'm glad to say he is now a new convert to hanging! Here are some photos of our setups throughout our trip. My dad had the green tarp and I'm in the gray. It was great to be able to setup right by the lake edge for most of our spots.

Thanks for sharing. Nice clean setup. Glad you were able to make your Dad's sleep more comfortable. I especially like the tree table.

It is good to have a good time with our folks, happy for both of you. It is also nice to teach them a thing or two.

I would think if your dad does go camping, he has probably slept on the ground. So sleeping up in the air was probably a treat on his back. I know it is on mine

The table was actually an idea I found on this site. I don't remember who originally posted it but I saw the pics and thought it looked like something I could make. Its just a thin piece of ply wood with a notch cut into it (to fit around trees) and para cord is what holds it to the tree. Surprisingly simple yet very vestal little table. I'll try to find a better picture and post it later.
