Got the first trip under my belt, and planing for next year!! We went in at Sea Gull lake(54) and right into 35mph head winds, a good work-out for a first timer! Got stuck on an Island for 5 hours waiting the wind out! Crossed into Alpine Lake, over a 105rod portage. Ended up setting up camp on the west side of Alpine, back in a cove around noon. By 8pm it was raining, all the next day we stayed due to the rain, and left by 7am the next day, and headed for Red Rock Lake. Spent the next night at the camp site north west of the 10 rod portage. Maybe I shouldn't call it a portage, we scouted out the rapids and said go for it, they wern't what I would call rapids, more of a creek, about 1 rod wide and MAYBE 5 in length!
Last day we hit the water around 6:30,we headed N-E and around to Sea Gull river, and back to our outfitter (Voyageur Outfitter) by 11:00!!! Had one of the best times I've ever had, and WILL be back!!!!!
