Could these Nite Ize Figure 9 Large Carabiner be used to attach hammock rope to straps? Or would it be too much stress where rope goes into locking area?

The Nite Ize Figure 9s aren't rated to support weight. I would use them to attach a tarp using a separate ridgeline, but definitely not to support the hammock. Personally, I use the rap ring method per this youtube video
I have some small ones coming in the mail to use for my hammock tarp and CCS 12x12.5 camp tarp but wouldn't use them, or the bigger ones, for hammock suspension.
I have this size and I think they are too small for this. You create a tremendous strain on a carabiner in a hammock. I bought a couple of the cheap ones you would use and pulled them apart. I now use climbing rated carabiners.
When I first started using hammocks I used them for my kids because it was easy for them to set it up by them selves, but they are not rated to handle that much weight. I use the climbing rated ones now.
