Well I just picked up my first canvas tent. What does everyone recommend for a stove? Brand, size, etc... Anyone make their own?
Thanks,
Ben
PS: This is a 9X12 tent.

At first I was thinking cook stove, but I am guessing you meant wood stove for the tent.
I have only used one stove and that was one that we rented this past year from white woods outfitters and they don't list the brand of the stove. It was pretty standard with a small shelf the attached to the side of the stove. That was nice for keeping water warm, but not boiling. I can point you to a few sites with good information. The smaller the stove, the smaller the wood that you can put in. Small pieces of wood means shorter burn times. You will have to feed the fire more often at night. All wood burns at the same temp, better wood burns longer.

Add KNI-CO to the list. They are the maker of the Snowtreker stoves. They have better prices than Snowtrekker has. Also there are some canvas tent shops out west that sell KNI-CO and run some specials at diff times of the year. Cabelas also sells the KNI-CO stove, be careful though because they also sell a cheap Chinese model, dont mix them up. Look for the round air vent on the front that turns like a dial. The cheep one slides back and forth. Cabelas KNI-CO is called the Sheepherder stove. I agree with Trygve about Titanium stoves but with the war titanium has gone through the roof in price.

Thanks CB! I have a bunch of Cabelas points so I may go that route. I'll be sure to get the right one if I do. Thanks again!

Thanks for that link on kni-co Cedarboy, that was actually one of the companies I was looking for but couldn't remember the name. I am pretty sure that the Alaskan Junior was the one I used earlier this year.
