Hi everyone. I posted a similar post on the gear forum. Just wanted to post here as well. Looking to buy my first hammock. Want to spend 100 or less. Leaning toward ENO junglenest. What are your thoughts on attached bug guards? Any other suggestions would be great. Thank you!
I like the prices on the ENO hammocks also. I like the size of the doublenest but I think I might want to have the attached bug screen on the junglenest more. Thanks
There is a gentleman by the name of Shug. Shug is probalby one of the most knowledgable people on the subject of hammocks. He has his own u-tube videos, and has done extensive field testing with different types and styles of hammocks. Check out his videos, and do a ton of reading. Thats what I did, and within the first 3 years I changed just about everything I started with, as far as ropes, straps, flies
Do check out Shug's videos. He is also a member an might have a comment, but I will echo brotherbob1958. I started with a HammockBliss double and bug net I picked up through campmoor for about $70. The separate bug net did allow for hanging without any interference on those nice nights without bugs, but also provided needed protection and some reduction in heat loss. I have upgraded everything except my tarp and likely will do that this year. The basic system still sleeps fine, but the added foot box, shelf and other little things make the upgrades pretty comfy. Read some of the early posts on this forum. Lots of good input that does not always get repeated.
