An excellent bridge crossing a little creek on the 90 r Duck to Zenith trail. The 4-plank bridge had nice stone work on the abutments (photo by PitchStump June 3, 2013)

Most of the stonework looks the same, but those planks were replaced by something a lot less rustic. The bridge was much wider, maybe even with handrails, at the end of September this year.
Inspector, thanks for the update on the bridge. I thought the bridge was perfect the way it was. It looked to have many more years of life. I wonder how trail projects get prioritized.

Yeah, I’m curious too. Unless those planks were getting to be a safety issue, it would have been nice to have given the flooded out portion of the Zenith-Lujenida portage some attention.
was rather fond / thrilled by the crossing. to fall would be certain doom. lots of other nice OLD work on this trail as well. tough go (but running on empty at time). toooo bad duck is such a shallow pass. lets pray for a manic beaver to raise it so the passage is not totally cut off.
