My only trip into the BWCA was 10 years ago. I need help planning a trip for early next season which would provide for good fishing and scenery. I have Robert Beymers East and West Region books, but they really don't help much with my fishing interests.

Any advice on routes to take, weeks to target, or books to buy would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance! Mike

Mike,
Probably your first decision is going to be as simple as the two books you mentioned - East, or West. That will help you settle on where you are going to start from, which in turn leads to choosing the outfitter you will use. They will be your best source for routing information.

Depending on where you are located there will probably be a 'sports show' of some kind in your area. Several of the outfitters make the rounds of the shows and pass out free information and brochures. Also hit on web sites and ask for brochures - some of those contain some route suggestions as well.

Enjoy the planning - it can be half the fun!!
