It sounds a bit silly, but what is everyone's preferred method for tarp tie-outs? Knots, hardware, self-adjusting, etc.
Also curious as to your methods in setting up porch mode without trekking poles. They don't make the cut on canoe trips.
For you warbonnet blackbird users, do you attach your hammock tie outs to a tarp stake, or it's own stake?
For you warbonnet superfly users, how do you attach the door tie-outs, and where?

I use the following:
Stakes = Y-Stakes from Walmart
Line = Braided mason line from Home Depot
Tie-off Method = Trucker's Hitch method found here: http://andrewskurka.com/2012/tarp-guyline-system/
Self-tensioning method found here: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?3731-Techniques-For-Make-Your-Own-Shock-Cord-Tarp-Tensioners
For porch mode I usual just use sticks I find lying around...
I don't have a super fly, but I do have tie-outs and when I use them I usually find a tree or tie a line to both on one side, run it to a stick in sort of a V, then run a line from the stick down to the ground so I get more of a horizontal pull on the side.

Gotcha on the shock cord self tension method. I have done same, but used a double loop instead of single loop with 3/8 shock cord. It might be to much, but if it is I can adjust easily enough.
I'm using 1.75 zing it/lash it. Not sure yet on how well a taut line hitch will work with that line, but the truckers hitch with a quick release tie off might be a option if that knot doesn't hold.

Those of you using trucker's hitches for hanging a tarp: Have you ever overdone the tension and ripped a tarp? I use a taught line hitch to a ridgeline and prusik hitches to attach the tarp. It seems like the added leverage that the trucker's hitch gives you might risk ripping a tarp.

With great power (leverage) comes great responsibility:).
I suppose you could easily pull to tight, but I usually pull until my self tensioners are tight using them as my limiters. I always have some stretch after initial setup overnight so it works really well.
It's really easy to adjust and you can't beat the teardown...one quick pull and the tie out is released (assuming you used the slippery half-hitch to hold things in place.

quote OgimaaBines: "I'll give it a shot! It's a fun one to use as well. Do you use a stationary knot on the other end? Which knot?"
Half hitches with a slipknot (quick release) on one side, trucker's hitch with a quick release on the other side. I use a ridge line and attach the tarp with prusik knots. I have found this to be the best way to adjust the tarp over the hammock or quickly tighten if the tarp begins to stretch. When I am ready to take it all down, I just give a simple pull on each side to release - takes only a few seconds to take down my tarp.
