Where is everyone's favorite site to set up? I'm new to the BWCA and curious about which lakes and specific sites people thing are great for hanging.

While I have many areas never visited, those I have visited all have trees. Therefore everywhere is someone's favorite and nearly anywhere can be yours. Plan your trip for what you want to do and see, you will find a good place to hang. Some of the fire areas and blowdown areas do not have as many mature trees, but for the most part it is not a problem as many of the primary campsites even in those places have been protected and have mature trees.

I've never had any problem finding hanging sites most anywhere in the BWCA. I vaguely recall an island on Basswood that is all rock and had no trees.

I know you can hang just about anywhere. I am just curious about your personal favorites that you have been to.
