New to the Minnesota area and BWCA. Planning a trip at the end of July and ending in early August. Where I am from there isn't much wind so the quilts aren't necessary during the summer. Would I need to pack one generally during that time of year here?

All I can tell you that last year during the first week in August, it made it into the mid 30's for me one night and into the 40's for several others.

I have seen low 20's at the end of May. Love my 20* incubator underquilt.

Welcome to the site.

You are going to want at least a pad or 3/4 length underquilt that is good to 40 degrees.

In mid-August, I've had night-time temps in the mid-thirties. You can expect to experience fairly cool night-time temps in the BWCA most anytime of the year.

Haven't camped in the BWCA yet, but I've done enough nights on the superior trail and on Isle Royale to tell you that you will want a quilt.
