What are the favorites for under quilt for the WBBB. I am looking to stay a little warmer on May and sept/oct trips. I have been looking at the 3 season Yeti that brandon makes. Is there a better option? Yeti owners happy?

I just started hanging and this is what I'm using this year.

Look at the 2nd pic at the bottom of the 1st page for the redesigned version.

I have a Hammock Gear 20 deg Incubator that I use on my Bird. Love it.

I have a 3/4 length Yeti and a full length JRB U/Q. Like 'em both.

I concur. Mine has 2 oz overstuff.

Another satisfied incubator with overfil user here.

I also have a UQ from Underground Quilts Very well made and warm. I had it made a bit wider than the hammock gear quilt at the cost of some size and weight.

Either company makes great gear and they stand behind it, as does Warbonnet guy.

I went with the UGQ Zeppelin 0* for my WBBB XLC. Since I'm 6'3" I had them build it +6" and added two oz extra fill. It fits great and is toasty warm. I don't have experience with the Incubator but it has a lot of users that report it's a great quilt. I guess that with either UGQ or Hammock Gear you'll have a quality product.

Two HQ Inkies here also. A twenty and a zero for my two WBBB's.

Looks like a lot of people like the incubators. DO you think the longer length is needed versus the yeti (73" vs 46") The yeti is cheaper, but you get less product. Also, the weight of the incubator is more. Just wondering if I would need the longer length? Again, It will probably be used in may and sept/oct in bwca. I know it can be cold in those months, but it is not winter camping.

The last two years in since I started hang'n, I have had several nights ranging from 23 deg and up in May. Last August, I had a couple nights that got into the mid and upper 30's.

As far as the extra weight for having the full length underquilt, I'm canoe camping and the extra doesn't matter that much to me.

I have used the 20 deg underquilt from May - October and it has never been to warm. I have had to open it up a little in the summer, but never to warm.

Just my two cents.

I have a Yeti, and have been just fine in the shoulder seasons. With a 3/4 length like the Yeti, you will probably want something to sit under your feet when it gets cooler during the night. Many will bring a small piece of CCF foam for under their feet while they sleep (others just use clothes.)

I prefer a 3/4 length for backpacking, but usually don't regret it too much when canoe camping. I willingly admit that on some colder mornings, the idea of being completely wrapped in a full length quilt is appealing.
