Trying to decide where exactly to post this question, so I'm starting with the hangin group first.
I was considering a hammock trip to Isabella.... After the Pagami Fire would this be ill advised? Anyone here travel that area in the past couple years and able to report on condition of the trees? Our group would likely be four hammocks and one 2+ tent.

I did Isabella in a hammock the summer after the burn. There were sites available in the southeast corner of Isabella. Taking the river to the west, there were several closed camp sites. Within a couple hours paddle though, I was through that area and didn't have any trouble finding suitable hanging sites after that.

Hey, thanks for the reply! I have changed our plan for this summer's trip and we will going in on Lizz. This is a first trip for my young kids this summer and I wanted to err on the caution. I am actually really interested in traveling to the burn area and experiencing that side of nature. I think it would leave a lasting impression on the kids also so I will file your advise away for likely next summer.

What can I say....they're hooked! We were not able to go last summer as we were planning a wedding. This spring however it's been so great to have them keep asking me how long it will be until we go back!
