I have quit a bit of ground venison left from this falls hunt and I want to make some jerky for an upcoming trip. I got one of those jerky cannons this past fall and have been playing around with those store bought mixes and have not been too impressed. Does anyone have a recipe for ground meat they would like to share or have any recommendations of a good store recipe. Thanks.

Sounds like you had a good hunt last fall. Firearm or bow? I'm still trying to find a good spot near me for bow.

I use the Backwoods Jerky Seasoning (original). I smoke the jerky on hardware cloth in my old refrigerator smoker for about an hour. Enough to start the drying process and impart the tangy smoked flavor. I then put the jerky into a food dehydrator to finish the process. I've been trying many methods and this works the best for me.
