My Daughter and I are coming up to the BWCA on 8-19-03.
We are putting in at entry point 14.
I am wondering if there is any place near Cook or Orr to rent a canoe. We will be picking up our entry permit in Cook and are planning on spending the night before we go in in Orr.

Thanks

La Croix outfitters in Buyck can rent you a canoe or any of the many outfitters in Ely could also. Entry 14 (Little Indian Sioux) is accessible via Echo trail from either side. Buyck is certainly closer than Ely. Give the good folks at La Croix outfitters a call. I have used them before a few years ago.

Here is the link to La Croix Outfitters-Good luck and make sure to see Devils Cascade at the one end of Lower Pauness.

You can also pick up your permit at any outfitter in Ely (as long as it originally had been sent to one of the Ranger Stations.

Bogwalkermn, thanks for the referral. I appreciate the business. You're right about Buyck being closer to those Echo Trail entries points. Stop in on your next trip through. Thanks again.
