I'm planning to be up there in early sept. Can we paddle the bottle river between La Croix and Iron? Is it OK to use the Bottle Portage on the Canadian Side?

One more question, can is it cool if we paddle over to Warrior Hill on the Canadian side of La Croix to see the pictographs?

Yes, you can legally use the Bottle portage on the Canadian side. Do NOT do the mile long one on the MN side! :-)

I have lots of customers who paddle over to see Warrior Hill & the pictographs. Just don't set up any camp there, or stay too long, and absolutely no fishing there. You are not allowed to go inland at all either.

The Bottle River is not navigatible. It's just a series of pools and one huge slide of granite boulders. Kind of fun to explore, but don't try to paddle/portage it. Use either Bottle Portage or the 320r. portage from the Ranger Cabin south of Bottle River. Be careful on the 320r. portage - it goes through the middle of a beaver pond. You'll have to paddle across the pond and try to find the portage on the other side. It's tricky, but can be done. Happy trails.
