Have any of you hangers spent time hanging in any of the mn state parks up the north shore? I have September 19-29 off and plan to just head up the north shore and bum around for the ten days. I was wondering if some of the campgrounds had good trees for hanging? Or maybe you guys can recommend some places worth stopping? I have no set plans as of now.

I have not seen any parks up on the north shore that had a shortage of good trees to hang from! Ten days sounds like a blast enjoy the trip.

I would definitely drive through the campground and look at the sites before selecting one if you plan on hanging. Yes there are many trees up there but not always suitable ones in the designated campsite where you will be staying. The hike in/cart in sites generally have better trees than the RV sites do.

Another option is to go the the DNR reservation site, select the park you want to stay at and you can view a picture of many of individual campsites by clicking on them.
