I have found a sourec for UHMWPE and am picking some up(ultra high molecular wt poly) in 1/4 in thickness for a tobaggon(see Boneli sled) this Thurs. It is 4ft by 10ft long(for 8 ft sled) and I am having it cut 15in wide so I will have 2 pieces left over that are 15in wide and 18in wide. I am selling these off to cover cost of material for $70 each. I am in the Twin Cities let me know if interested.

Nice, I am definitely interested. This material is that expensive huh?
If I buy one of the sheets from you would I have to cut it more? Or is it already the proper size for the sled? I understand the sheet size for a sled should be: 15inX10ft right?
I just want to build what Boneli has. Oh, and what is the source of your plastic? Feel free to email me (vlad@umn.edu) I am very interested in purchasing a slice.

15" x 10' worked for me. If you look up some of the toboggan pictures on the internet, you will see that the front and back is slightly tappered. Not sure why this is but I did not do it. Slippery is the key feature in this material plus it takes a good beating on the occasional had surface. Remember, this is the base material for downhill skis!

Not a secret. Getting it from Nott Company in Arden hills(north Twin Cities suburb, just north of 694 off 35W). Call Jeff Peterson at 651-415-3426 in sales. Getting it for $140(4x10, 1/4 in) for the sheet plus $20 cut fee plus tax comes to around $175-$180. Not looking to make $$$ on the deal just cover cost of 2 of 3 pieces plus my gas for running around.
