Returned last night from a week in the Tetons. I used the hammock bliss that has made two trips into the BWCA and for the first time had reason to use the tarp and then the bug netting. Both were successful.
I did have one concern and seek input from others. I have slept two and three night stays with no complaints, but this trip called for five nights in the hammock. By the last night it seemed the nylon fabric had stretched and it was difficult to get a good vertical lay. Are the more expensive hammocks made of something other than nylon so they will not stretch so much?
I had heavy wind the first night and a light rain with wind the second, just a light steady rain the third then the mosquitoes moved in the final two nights. The last night was clear so I removed the tarp and enjoyed the Milky Way through the bug net. In order to avoid branch rub I used a bungee-dealee-bobbie to tie the loop of the Kelty tarp to the branch as shown in photo. Campsites in the Park have plenty of trees, but finding two the right distance can get tough and sites fill fast in the morning or are assigned.
