I am planning a two day trip starting Aug 3. Permits are available for only a limited number of entry points which has become sort of a constraint. I will be going with people who will be first timers so I don't want to pick up a route with difficult portages. Permits are available for the following entry points, Trout, Big lake, Little Vermillion, Hog Creek, Morgan lake, Meeds, Skipper, Missing link, South lake (arrowhead), Crocodile. I know of a route from Beymer's book which is a 21 mile loop starting at Vermillion and through Trout and Pine lakes but Trout and Vermillion have motorists too and they are large bodies so the wind may be a problem. Could anybody suggest a easy loop route ?

Thanks !

Take a trip in an area surrounded by the BW but not actually 'in' it.

Try going Fenske Lake and ending at Bass Lake. Nice area, can actually be less crowded than the BW in busy times!

Not quite a loop, but close. Get some transportation or loop with a bike.

Another suggestion is to get the Hog creek permit to Perent Lake. Decent fishing, only one short, easy portage each way. Alittle more driving in and out. Stop at Lynn's place, Voyageur North, and they will fill you in on details.
