Hello! I just started thinking about planning a trip to the BWCA and I noticed a couple of things that I wonder about. Does it bother anyone else that the Forest Service takes our tax money, mismanages everything (they are the only major player in the timber industry that loses money AND plants less trees than are harvested, etc.)and then wants to charge us more if we actually want to USE the areas set aside for the public? Also, the state where I live (KY.) doesn't require canoes to be registered as water craft and I see that MN. wants me to register my canoe there even though I am not a resident of that state (kind of like forcing you to register your car there just to drive through the state). Am I over-reacting or does this not seem fair?
