Hey save me a tree:)
It's been several weeks and I'm getting very anxious to get out there again.
Me and the boys should be there sometime on Saturday afternoon.
...13 days since the last post in this forum, where's everybody been?

I've had my Wbbb hung for about two weeks now in the back yard. I jump in it every now and then but without the UQ it gets chilly fast. Waiting on a superflu and then I'll do a few test sleeps

Nope. Kid stuff happening every weekend. I have snuck out of the office once for a quick 5 mile hike in a local forest preserve, but that's it over the last few weeks.

Just got back from seven solid nights in the sling in BWCA.
First time with the underquilt too. Two nights I could have done without it, but I wanted to play with it since I've only done backyard testing with it.

I love the smell of silnylon in the morning. It smells like........victory!

Just home from my trip. I never set up the tarp so enjoyed the stars and moon. Tuesday morning there was ice on the kayak and the trees along the lake, nothing where I was hanging. Used a 0 degree Kelty bag like a blanket tucking it against the pad. Tuesday night had a chilly wind but again I was fine.

Just did a 9 day solo and I had to really improvise to stay warm. It got down in the mid 20's several nights so with my 1/8th inch pad not doing the job I folded it in half and put it under my torso then used my crazy creek canoe chair under my legs and put my raingear in the footbox. I turned my 30 year old down bag into a topquilt and wore all my clothes.
2 pair of lightweight long johns, regular nylon pants, 2 pair wool socks over sock liners, T-shirt, 2 lightweight long john tops, reg long sleeve shirt, 30 year old down vest (which I finally threw out after trip), medium weight "windstopper" fleece jacket. I also had a fleece hat and soft leather gloves on. This did the trick and I slept like a baby.
Here's a pic of my rig. Finger Lake in the BW late Sept. 2012.

I was lucky just to go to the BW this year. Popping for an underquilt will have to wait. Last year it got into the low 30's a couple of nights and I was ok. Going down that 7 or 8 degrees gave me a big chill this year. I should have brought my big air pad but I went with the 1/8 inch closed cell. Live and learn.

quote IBFLY: "Tom - No underquilt? That's alot of clothes to wear.!
I've used a length of reflectix in my WBBB to great effect - keeps me warm without an underquilt to mid 20's. "
where did you buy your reflectix? Home improvement store? Menard's, Home Depot
