This is the first year I am entering Quetico from the north side. Does anyone have any recommendations for a place to stay in Atikokan for the night before I go in? Am I better off staying in Fort Frances the night before? I an entering at Nym Lake.

The White Otter in Atikokan is ok. Good place to eat also. I have stayed there probably a dozen times.

White Otter Inn. Decent place, clean and the restaurant is good. It is right across from the beer store as well. Just stayed there on June 30th.

The "Big A" (I think its the Atikokan Hotel) is very nice. Canoe Canada outfitters in Atikokan has bunk rooms, which I've stayed in many times. we rent our canoes from them, but they might simply rent out the bunk house. There's no reason to stay in FF instead of Atikokan. You'll be in the water much earlier, and you can get a great last breakfast in town.

Not only is the Atikokan Hotel another option to stay, it is a great place to eat ..... crab legs, filet mignon etc. Nice pre flight meals!

Thank you for the advice. The White Otter Inn was full on 8/4, so I will be staying at the Atikokan Hotel.
