Thanks OBX2Kayak, you are right….I’ll spend more money.

Contacted Brandon at Warbonnet and asked him if he had any cosmetic blemishes on 1.7 Blackbird or a Supperfly and sure enough he had one of each……..So going off the ground at a savings.

Now I’m thinking about that 20 degree Incubator….More $$$$

You won't regret it! I highly reccomend an UQ. I have an 20 incubator and it's nice! I also just ordered a 20 extra wide UQ from a guy named Paul who runs Underground quilts. Looks very similar to hammock gear but a touch cheaper. Might as well get a top quilt while you're at it. Sleeping bags work but man, is my HG burrow nice! Congrats on finally coming around to the hanging side!

Olive Brown on the tarp and I'm guessing the Olive Green on the Bird. Now I have to wait like a kid at Christmas.

Welcome to the dark side Kevin. No more dirt camping for you.

I think it's the other way around. A matter of perspective I suppose. Welcome none the less.

I'm sure Brandon won't make you wait to long. Do you have a place handy for a quick hang when you get it?

Well the first hang may have to be in the garage or from one tree to clothes line pole, or another tree to garden shed. Guess that will be part of the fun.

For some reason my son thinks he has dibs on my Exped now.

Sounds like an opportunity to get some extra work out of him on the portages :)

I have found the WBBB to an extremely comfortable way to camp. I took mine last year on our canoe trip. That was my first chance to sleep in it out in the wilderness. Because we went north of 50*, I did have an issue finding sturdy trees. We had almost all black spruce. So, I had a real comparison as I spent 2 nights on the ground using a ccf pad. I hope I can always hang when I camp from now on.
But, I'm preaching to the choir....

Well received shipping notification today! I figured that it would ship before this as both 1.7 WB and Superfly were cosmetic blemishes and on hand. Then I have been following on Hammockforums about someone that was mad because his had not shipped yet. Brandon replied that he only ships every week or so…..

IT’S ON IT’S WAY, and I have next week off. Should get some practice times in.

I concur with OBX2Kayak Kevin, Welcome to the club. You will enjoy!
I have the 1.1 dbl WBBB, Superfly Tarp, Yeti UQ, Mamba TQ. I sleep so comfortably. I use it for motorcycle camping too. I also use a WB Traveler at home quite often. Good choice Kevin.

This is the really hard part. Knowing your package is out there slowly making its way to you. It can be excruciating. Don't forget pictures once you get it set up!

Well I got a package today!!! Now if I get my midterm grades in I'll have a chance to play next week some. SPRING BREAK!

I average an extra two hours sleep when in my hammocks over my tents.

I hope you enjoy yours as much.

Can't wait to get out there and actually camp in my WBBB this year. I bought mine AFTER my trip last year so I was only able to use it a couple times at home in the yard and for one night at a campground before a race I attended. I'm really looking forward to being able to spend multiple nights actually camping with the hammock. I'm also really looking forward to having a smaller item to carry around in my pack.

I average two hours less sleep in my hammock but that's a good thing. I'm much better rested after a night in the hammock and sometimes I even get up before sunrise which never happens in a tent

Well I finally got a quick setup done today but didn’t have enough time to get the Superfly out today. Mother had surgery this morning and came home to let the dog out. I thought what the heck….used the grandson’s swing set in the back yard. I do understand what people say about hitting the “sweet spot”.

It feels real good ;-)

More pictures to follow I'm sure!

Good pic (looks like you have brand new socks).

Oh, now you get to really start spending money ... tarp, whoopie slings, top quilt, underquilt ... the list goes on and on.

I love that picture of your feet, only a hammocker would appreciate a picture like that hahaha

Gotta love the footbox. I'm gonna set up my blackbird sometime in April in the yard. I'm gettin' the itch to hang.

Socks are not a problem around my house. My sister-in-law makes them and her husband is a tech who programs the machines and makes samples. Always know what you are going to get for Christmas. And always get some merino wool socks for outdoors.

I pulled the trigger once again on another hammock today. A WBBB 1.1 double with a Mamajama tarp.

This will be my warm weather and backpacking set up. I'll use the ENO doublenest in the backyard and camper and the Clark NX-200 for winter trips. Spring and fall backpacking and all canoe trips.....my WBBB 1.7 with the Superfly.

I got to learn to keep my finger off that trigger.

Don't tempt me. lol

I've done a lot of mods, especially to my Clark set up (suspension, addition of ridge line, separating the fly on it's own line, etc.). That's about as far as I want to take it. You still need time to use the gear, not just make it.

I could see myself hunched over a 4k dollar sewing machine making snakeskins out of actual snake skins.

I'm like that. And that......sometimes is not a good thing. LOL

Sometimes it's like the sear get's stuck wide open when you have your finger on that trigger and goes FULL AUTO.

I know I have shot my hammock purchases for this year. 1.7 DBL Warbonnet, Superfly, and 20 deg Incubator......Will probably make my own clips for hanging but for now will use some carabiners that I have. Top quilt is out for sure this year.
