If you are looking for bear barrels check with some outfitters most have some used ones for sale. You could then make your own harness if you want. Not exactly "bear proof" but I use 20L olive barrels I can fit up to three in my pack. They are alot more flexible than a single large 60L barrel IMHO. You can carry just one for shorter trips or more of them for the longer ones. You can get the olive barrels for free at most Greek restaurants or check at a supermarket deli.

I bought mine at US Plastics. (www.usplastic.com) Lots of different types there to choose from. 15 gallon barrel for $34. Much cheaper than if you went to an outfitter or outdoor store. Most of the time they charge upwards of $60+. Nice thing is they fit in an old army duffle bag that can be used with shoulder straps. Makes the portage much easier. Good luck!
