I have a question for those of you who paddle a lot in the BWCA. I am a big man, 6'5 and 275. I currently use an Old Town Discovery 169 to float our rivers and lakes in Arkansas, (No Portages) But as I get older I think I would like something a little lighter to bring to the BWCA. I would like a big stable boat, and will be looking at getting something like the Wenonah Champlain 18, or the Souris River Quetico 18.5. In the next few years I will be bringing a group from my church and I will be the primary supplier for the people who come with me, carrying most of the supplies, and possibly a third passenger.
