I'll be in Quetico the 2nd week of June this year and was hoping to get an idea of how bad the flies will be. I've read that normally, they're about done by the middle of June, earlier if it's been a warm spring. Anyone care to venture a forcast for this year?

My prediction

It's been a fairly warm spring. They are definitly showing themselve here in the U.P. I think you'll be out of blackfly season and into skeeter season. Have fun with it.

So far none of my customers have come back in and really complained about the black flies (some call them sand flies).

I know that there must be a few areas where they are bad, but so far I haven't heard of them yet.
