anyone been to raven lately? was thinking of going up there on a spring trip I'm making. Probably just a daytrip. What I've heard is it is 2 portages separated by a creek. What would be the time frame for getting through these portages?

That used to be my opener lake trout lake years ago. Not sure on time frame for just Raven portages. We always put in at Snowbank and would make it to Raven in about 7-8 hours if that helps, but haven't been there since 2005---man time flies :)

It is 2 portages from Roe. A few pullovers and down trees to be expected not very long--windy creek--go as far as you can.

We were in Raven last June. I will get some details scrounged up. I could send my GPS track log to give you a touchstone. I must say worth it! Here is a pic of what to expect. Exciting!

We went to Raven last May and it was really special. This was before I knew about PMAs. Just looked like a fun adventure. Figured something was up when we got to the marked campsite to find there wasn't a fire grate. Stayed one night and left no trace. Looking at going back to Raven around May 16th. Still need to call to reserve. Anyone here planning on being in that area around then?

Hey chiseltodd, I'll be having some Sixth Street Market brats for dinner about 2 miles away from Raven on the 16th.

Chilly's got good taste. Sixth Street wild rice brats are usually on the menu first or second night for us as well. Watch for a blue Mad River. We will be coming from Kawishiwi Lake.

we're planning on being back at Raven the end of this month, probably spending a night and seeing if we can't hike over to another nearby lake or two. I'll post in June.
