Hey All

Going to Winchell Lake Next week w/some friends from work...never been there before. Any advice? Anyone been there? What did u catch? What did u use to catch em? Lake Trout and Pike from what I hear!

Winchell is a beautiful lake with a spectacular cliff on the south side.

One thing to keep in mind on Winchell is the wind. If you are paddling west, you will have your work cut out for you if the wind is blowing.

It is a lake trout and pike lake. If you are going to fish for lakers, then make sure you get a trout stamp!!

For pike fish along the structure along the shoreline and off the points.

Try Mepps spinners for a good all around lure that time of year. And for general fishing tips and info try Furtmans's book on BWCA fishing.
