sounds like you had a fun trip! we're heading in to the thunder/beartrap area next week and i'm wondering if you could suggest any campsites (on beartrap, how does the one site look?) or exploration ideas (we'll be there for a few nights).

sorry it took so long to reply I work for an outfitter and its a little busy, stay on Thunder if you can and you see where thunder and beartrap are really close you stay right by there on thunder its a beautiful site cliffs you can jump off to the right and to the left a 6 rod portage to bear trap-
good fishing lake but only when its a chop/cloudy or at night. I definatly recommend the site on thunder, especially if you have kids going, but watch out I've heard many stories of generations ago in my family (most involved alcohol) rolling down the rock into the lake! but its a nice site. I'll put some more pictures on if I get time today.

Can you elaborate on the whole broken arm thing? Sounds interesting.

It's a small world. I just discovered this site yesterday while tooling around the www. Now today i'm reading your trip report and admiring your carry yoke. I thought that looks like the one a man named Ted described to me yesterday on the phone. Again, this too was a new find for sat. (canoegear.com that is).
So now i'll just wait for my catalog to arrive and get me one of those fancy carry yokes.
