Bruce-good job-Looks like 2004 will go down as the year of wind and waves. I am amazed how much wind everyone has had to deal with so far this year-me included. If it all averages out, our late summer and fall trips will be on water as smooth as glass. We can all hope anyhow.

Glad you made it home safe and you had a great time. It is also a good sign when your finace not only enjoys the journey-but is impressed with what it takes to enjoy it. You should be a happy couple for all the years of your life together. Congrats on your trip and your upcoming wedding.

Because of the wind and rain, my dad and I cut our trip a day short. Another friend was up w/ his two oldest children and they came back a day early last week because of the same problem. BUT I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK INTO THE BWCAW.

Bruce sorry to hear you had the battle of the wind. Why is it, that it almost always turns to be a head wind? Thomas is one of my absolute favorite lakes, Insula next door the other. I have spent many an evening looking to the west from the cliff top on the island site. Next time you are in the area try the trip to Sagus again, it too is a very nice little lae. I have never had to share this lake with anyone on fall trips. Weather permiting try the long lake trout troll up Thomas and across Fraser. It too has been reasonably productive for me in the past. As for the motor theft, again I'm sorry to here it. It seems harder to bear when it's sportsman stealing from their brothers.

Sounds like you dealt with the elements and had a good time anyway. Glad you made it back safe and sound.

Bruce-

I paddled out from Ashub the morning you went in. I can vouch for the conditions on Disappointment and Snowbank. That paddle back to the landing from Parent was spooky, solo, in a Prism. No fun paddling directly into the wind like that. When it was nasty on Parent, I knew what I'd be getting on Snowbank.
