Thanks for the report. Sounds like you have initiated a few new BWCAW trippers who sre hooked for life now-Good for you.

I would have loved to be there to watch your friend swig the canola oil instead of the liquor-that must have been some face and spit-roflol.

On Hudson, below the rapids where the Kawishiwi River runs into Hudson from Insula there is a great little walleye hole... did you get to try it out? Glad you had a great time! and Great report too...

My buddy and I stayed on the same Insula site you have marked, one October. We had a big ol thunderstorm blow in and dumped rain in a torrential down pour. We had current running under our ground cloth for the tent and out the vestibule. Good times. Next time through Fire Lake try to fish the smallmouth there. Not all that big but usually willing. Of course there is that weather thing. Sounds like all most eveyone coming back tells of high wind paddling.
