It was a tight squeeze, to be sure. Keep in mind that 2 of the people were kids, so they can duff side by side if you don't mind listening to them poke each other....LOL! This is the last year, though. Next year we take 3 canoes even if we have to rent one- my god-daughter had a blast and is talking about buying a used canoe....along with good raingear and a duluth pack.

Gods that trip was phenomonal...and the food was even better!
Great report and great pictures!
You did forget the awesome thing that happened to Jesse and I though...on day three we paddled out so I could get some good loon pictures and we had a bald eagle land nearby on an island...we got out on the island and stood below the tree...it was so beautiful. You never realize how huge they are until you get that close.

Dogwood Girl,
Nice report and it sounded like everyone had a great trip! Do you hire out to cook for Groups? Just teasing... I too enjoy cooking good meals for the crew when they are along!

Hey nice report. Dogwoodgirl 7 people in two canoes, along with all that food. You had to have passed my group. I was comming back from Insula on your second day.

Yeah, the crowding was not the best...but the food was oh so wonderful! It did inspire my approach this coming season, however. I am taking at least 2 separate trips...one with the kiddies and novices, basecamping, and one with just us older folk, traveling further and lighter!
Funny that you should mention hiring myself out, Bruce....my devious long term plan is hook the young 'uns on my food now, so that when I am old and weak, they will haul my ancient self back in the woods to cook for them!

Dogwoodgirl-
Great report.
I have been through the numbered chain a couple of times and know exactly what you mean about the busy lakes and worryig about campsites. Both times I just kept on trudging through and found sites in Insula. but that was without the younguns that you had along.
Thanks for a great report.
