I'm looking for a place to stay the night that we come out of the Boundary Waters. There's just two of us and we want a lodge or something away from people but reasonably priced and near a good outfitter. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Why not use a bunkhouse. Clean-inexpensive-at the outfitters. Lynn at VNO has nice bunkhouses and if it is avaialble some that have there own shower and small kitchen with stove and frig. Just like a resort, maybe not the view, but convenient and reasoably priced.

What entry point are you going into? If you are on the Gunflint side, I had a good experience last year staying at the gunflint pines resort http://www.gunflintpines.com/. We stayed in one of their camping cabins as they call them which basically amount to a little bunkhouse. Bob and Cheri where accomidating in that we showed up at around 1 am, and they had us all setup without having to get someone out of bed. They had a place to shower in a nearby shared bathroom. It rained cats and dogs all night.
