ive decided that i dont not want to live indoors this summer so starting next weekend im not going too.
due to my work schedule (3pm-1am m-thrus) i can go live outside thrus night thru sunday nights. guess its just the wander bug in me, actually from the time i was 13 till i turned 24 i hopped frieght trains, toured with the rennisance festivals and just generally lived/camped outside.
but point being im looking for good spots to go in and around the bwca. i base,"good" apon #1 the fishing #2 campsites #3 how few hippies ill have to deal with, and #4 fishing.

it will generally generally just be me and my dogs so please no vicious portages (long and trecherous).

also if anyone has any good recipies for making dryed foods such as ;
dehyrated eggs id much appreciate it

Hey Fly Angler, here is one suggestion. Put in on Kawishiwi Lake and work your way north. Polly, Koma and Mahlberg have always been consistent fish producers for me. Primarily walleye for eating and pike for fun. The 180 rod portage between Kawasaschong and Townline is a little on the long side but pretty flat. The portages out of Baskatong can usually paddled through with high water. Two of my favorite campsites are on Mahlberg. The first is at the narrows to the NW arm, it sits up fairly high so hauling gear and water are issues but is otherwise very nice. The other is the site in the far end of the NW arm near the portage to the river. It has a nice sand beach, plenty of open ledge rock and nice tent pads. Bring the fly rod, last summer Mahlberg gave up a 38" pike on a Dahlberg Diver for me.
