so just outta ignorance,
what does one do with ones vehicle when one is in the bwca?
do you have to leave it at a outfitter or can you leave it at the entry point?
if its the later of the two are the entry points safe to leave my truck at?
yes i know this is a silly question but figured id find out now instead of by surprise later.
I have done both, left it at an outfitters and parked it at an entry point and have had no problems. I have rarely heard of anyone having problems by leaving them parked at the entry point. I do not know how well they are patrolled or whatever, and I might be a little leery of leaving my vehicle at a remote entry point, but things can happen anywhere in these days. My suggestion is to do what ever will give you the most peace of mind. If you would feel better leaving your vehicle parked at an outfitters, and having them transport you to the entry point do so. Most only charge a minimum fee, unless you outfit with them. Good luck

oh, by the way... there are no stupid questions!! If I have a question no matter what, I feel free to ask it on this board... I have never read here, where anyone has been put down or told it was a silly question. This board is the best I have found for getting down to earth answers from some people who love the BWCA and do not mind sharing what they know... So do what I do, ask away, your question may get a few responses or it may get many. I am just thankful this forum is here and the people here are as knowledgeable as they are and as willing to help.

I drive a beat up old pathfinder but we have this same routine when we have taken a nearly new Subaru Forester. Before the trip, the car is cleaned out. Nothing in it at all except for our gear. The morning of the trip, we change into canoeing clothes and put the clothes we wore up into plastic grocery bags. These become our spare clothes in the event that we spend a week in the rain. The plastic grocery bags don’t close and so anyone looking into the cargo area will see a coupe of sacks of old clothes. I even go so far as to leave the console storage area between the seats open so that anyone looking in will see that there is nothing to steal. I figure if someone takes a second look at my car, they will realize that there is nothing there and move on.
