There is one posted on craigslist in the TC. Sounds like a nice boat. 8-10 years old but with no structural damage. 15.5' and I have heard it described as a tripping boat that has > capacity and stability than the merlin II. The seller says he took his dog(s) with him on many trips and the boat was stable even with the shifting dog weight. 37# Kevlar layup. Wood trim that needs refinishing. New seat and yoke. Also new kevlar skid plates waiting to be installed. Price is 800 obo. I responded to the listing within an hour of it posting and spoke with the seller already this morning. Seems like a nice guy. He is in Princeton, MN. I am REALLY interested in a tandem boat but I am waiting to here back from the seller on that one. If I pass on the CJ solo anyone here interested in jumping on it (I've got his phone number if you are seriously interested)?

I also saw this listing last night.I already have a solo canoe and am not in the market, but I'm sure it would be a fine tripping canoe for someone out there. And you can't beat the price either. To those who might not know, the CJ refers to Cliff Jacobson.

Not sure I'd say proud quite yet-needs some work-but lets just say i don't think I'll be renting for the fall group solo:) I'm gonna go over to Northwest Canoe tomorrow morning to see what we can do with this thing. I will have to take some before pictures and some after pictures.

I have to say that I am REALLY disappointed about the one that got away. There was a Bell Northwind in Black Gold advertised on Craigslist for a ridiculously good price. It was my dream canoe and I was head over heals I responded within about 2 hours of posting. Then I responded to the CJ solo listing. I heard nothing back on either canoe all evening. I couldn't sleep that night-the suspense was killing me not knowing if I might have a chance at one of the canoes. Since I couldn't sleep I got up to check my yahoo mail...again-still nothing. So I decided to send an email from my work email account. In the morning I had a response to my work email on the CJ solo. Never heard anything about the Northwind but the listing has since been pulled. I'd like to know who got it. The guy I got the CJ solo from said he never got my yahoo email-maybe it got filtered as spam. In any case from here on out I will not be responding to craigslistings with the yahoo account.

As an aside it always peaves me when people don't respond to emails. craigslist is the worst.
