Curious if anyone gave it a go this year? Since it's not on the park's Portage Maintenance map, I assume it would have some challenges...

Might head up the Man Chain next week; thought I'd check with the peanut gallery.

A paddler we met this summer said she'd tried the portage this year and found it a disaster. We paddled past the Bell end of the old portage area September 2 and there's lots of wind damage evident--big white cedars down, etc.

We went up through the Man Chain in August and camped on Bell. We looked but didn't see a trace of a landing or portage. We were on a mission to complete the loop and didn't want to take up a day to bushwhack there and back.
I would like to return and try to get there one way or another
