Lost my paddling partner very recently. Clyde "Buzzy" Tackett. He was a salt of the earth guy and a helluva outdoorsman. We were to be at Twin Falls the morning he passed. We made our first trip together in 1983. He loved the wilderness and solitude of the BWCAW and especially the Quetico and looked forward to going every year.

Here's a photo of Buzzy taking it all in at the overlook campsite on Wink Lake. A good example of a man at peace with himself and his surroundings.

Sorry for your loss… sounds like a great guy all around. I’ve had a number of canoe friends pass and it’s never easy. But the memories just seem that much greater. I hope you find that peace we all need when losing such a friend…

One heck of a paddling partner - my condolences to you. And may I say one heck of a campsite on Wink Lake too. Wow.

My condolences to you. Losing a close friend is always difficult, especially one with whom you enjoyed paddling the wilderness. May the memories of your many trips stay with you forever.
