I've been keeping an eye out for a used canoe, coming mostly from kayaks for fishing boundary waters a couple times a year.

Came across a fb marketplace ad for a Sawyer 190 cruiser (SAW05372H686 I think? hard to tell from a pic)

Trying to feel out if 525 is a reasonable price and if this is a workable canoe for some rare solo paddling with a dog and some tandem fishing/camping excursions. I'm a little larger 6'1" 230 and I've read that bigger folks this might be a little too small.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It would be a bit of work to solo, but a great tandem tripper. A bit heavy for portages. Price is good if its in decent shape.

Thanks...is it a fairly stable platform for fishing off of? Especially for someone my size?

I haven't been in that canoe but have owned 4 other Sawyers. I currently have the two bigger brothers to the 190. All of my Sawyers have been very comfortable to fish out of, but that is so subjective. They're all too performance oriented to be called "fishing platforms". You'd really want to sit in it and see for yourself. The 190 would not be a good tandem tripper for you. It simply doesn't have the volume--too narrow and shallow. It would be an excellent solo canoe for you, if you installed a center seat. If it's in good shape the price is fair. The advertised weight for that layup is 60#.
