If you use magnetic or clip-on sunglass lenses over your prescription lenses and wear a full-brim hat with a fairly flat crown, you may find this useful. I used a scrap of fleece to make a sleeve for my magnetic shades. Sleeve width is ~2.5 times the width of the shades; length is the same as the crown. The sleeve has a Velcro loop patch sewn on its open end. In my hat I applied an adhesive Velcro hook patch at the front edge of the crown. The corners of closed end of the sleeve are hand-sewn to the seam of the crown. I can't lose the shades because the closed end is secured to the hat by stitches and the open end of the sleeve is secured by the Velcro, yet the shades are immediately accessible without digging through a PFD pocket or other stash. They're also fairly well protected from scratches, etc.

Cool idea, but won't work for me; that's where I keep my head net.

My hat trick is affixing my clip-on, flip-up polarized beauties to the brim of my cap when the sun goes down and I know I won't need to actuate them until the next morning.

May your next trip not require the head net!

We're gearing up for a trip later this month, and I discovered that even with my shades in my hat, I still have plenty of room for the head net. YMMV.
