Anyone have any suggestions (DIY or companies) that handle tent repair? Our pup decided he had had enough with the flys and figured out his own way into our tent last weekend on Disappointment.
Guilty party can be seen int the photo below:

Yep, I think I can see at least a little bit of remorse in those puppy-dog eyes!

That's a pretty good-sized tear. Perhaps the manufacturer would be able to recommend an option or sell you just the screen portion. Others will probably be more helpful on the DIY side of things.

Good luck!

Had this happen with tent a few years ago. Left my dog in the tent and he made his escape thru the screen. I sent it to an outdoor shop somewhere in Minneapolis for repair. It’s been a few years so I do t remember the name of the place. I found out about them on this site though.

Had this happen with a Big Agnes tent last summer. More holes and bigger than what you showed. Costed me about $40 for the repair, plus shipping to Big Agnes. I would contact the manufacturer and ask if they have a repair program.
I have a Zpacks tent that had a similar size hole to what you have and that one I hand stitched and added a small dab of seam sealer goo on the ends to keep it from coming undone. By far and away the hand stitched repair I did turned out better looking and less noticeable.

Send a picture of it to Repair Lair in Minneapolis. My guess is they would be happy repairing it for you. Repair Lair

I didn't know that place existed here in the Twin Cities. That's a great find. Now I know where to take my damaged gear (and I have a lot!).

Given the recent long thread regarding dogs in the BW, I find this thread just as humorous. Like, you guys really keep dogs in your tent?

Learn something new each day.

Personally, I'd take this as an opportunity to buy a new tent. I could see making repair for expensive items that are not often replaced, but a well used tent is replaced every 5-7 years anyways. And good tents are not that expensive, the Marmot Limelight in your picture retails for only $240.

Haven't been there in awhile but Thrifty Outfitter Repairs is located above the Midwest Mountaineering store. I've had tent zippers repaired there.

I would just get a needle and thread and go to town. If you are really worried after the repair sew another section of screen on over. YouTube has 1000s of videos to show you how to sew. Put it through both pieces, lock stitch, repeat. Simple.

I had a screen tear on my Marmot tent. the company replaced the screen for free for me.
