Saw two canoes like this in Quetico last week. They looked like they were camping eleven per site.

I saw them, too, but they were in bigger red canoes.

It's an Atikokan youth summer program. They teach kids wilderness skills, among all the other things a kid needs to know growing up. They send them out individually to spend a night alone, too, after they are a few days in. The groups I have met have been young females. Tough courageous young ladies is what I saw.

I've talked to the leaders before out there. It's a blessing someone still cares for the kids. Not saying people don't, but we need as much of this as possible.

Always fun to run across them in Quetico.
I have on Cutty and Kashapiwi, and Kawnipi .

We saw a group of them in 2013 portaging into Burt Lake. Those canoes are huge!

Great group to run into while in Quetico. Always very enthusiastic and boisterous.
