I need some input/suggestions.

Due to my creaking knees and getting older, I find myself facing the reality that coastal touring/sea-kayaking might no longer be the activity for me. Having been an avid paddler for most of my life, I have an alarming amount of kit. Three boats, a dozen or so paddles, hell, somewhere I have a manual desalination pump. In addition, there are 75 -100 sea kayaking titles in my library.

Any suggestions on how to sell it all hopefully in one fell swoop? Not really looking to profit from it, just move it all with a minimal amount of drama. Maybe even trade. I can always use another canoe.

Thanks.

Find a FB group that specializes in the activity or even a page targeted towards selling that type of gear.

You could contact a local paddlesports dealer and see if they want to make an offer.

You could run ads on this site for batches of stuff...like a boat plus three paddles. It's a seller's market so I think plenty of folks would be willing to suck up a few extra items when everything is a good deal. I've seen people just give away books on paddling sites; I'd donate to a library or offer them all for super cheap or free.

You could run an ad on this site for a kayaking gear liquidation sale and set aside one weekend to let folks stop by and buy stuff.

You could look for someone that can sell your stuff for you and split the profits.

I can't help but think that gear swaps should be much more common. I've got a silly amount of canoe gear and could set up a newbie easily but I could use a kayak paddle or two and I just refuse to start collecting $400-$500 paddles. There's got to be an amazing amount of unused gear out there.

I think it's unlikely you'll sell three boats in one swoop, given the range of personal requirements and preferences among the hardshell crowd. A Facebook group is probably your best bet for listing your stuff, like these:

Inland Sea Kayakers

Inland Seas, Kayaking the Great Lakes

Now, let's talk about what's really important. WIH aren't you thinking of a folding boat? I paddle Gitche Gumee with my achin', creakin' 69-year-old knees in a Folbot Greenland II:

You could even hold onto that desalination rig:
